I totally wanted to go to this but they were sold out by the time I tried to get tickets I think.
It's okay though because I am seeing Anyone Can Whistle tomorrow night haha.
I hope those who go have a great time! NJPAC is a gorgeous venue.

perfectlymarvelous, where were you looking? There are still tickets available from the NJSO website.
I'm not going, but I'm sure it'll be a fantastic concert!

Yes, she was fantastic!
She dropped her glass of water, and cleaned it up later on, lol.
She sang two acapella encores without a mic.

givesmevoice I think my mom might have checked for me or something. It might've just been the cheap seats or something or I just thought I couldn't trek out to Newark, who knows hahaha.
In any case Anyone Can Whistle was totally worth it.

I thought she was magnificent!!!
She was in very strong voice, and seemed to be really enjoying herself. My favorites were her As Long As He Needs Me (stunning) and Don't Rain On My Parade.
Her dropping and breaking the glass of water was hilarious. She returned after one of her songs with a dustpan and broom and cleaned it up!! It was cute.
Does anyone know the names of the two acapella encores? She sang them both sans microphone!

I was there as well, and I had a wonderful time. "Meadowlark" was the highlight of the evening for me.
She seemed very personble this time around. When I saw her with Mandy Patinkin last year, the whole evening felt a little dry because it was very clearly staged and scripted. Tonight felt much more loose and laidback, more like a cabaret than her show with Patinkin.
If anyone in NJ couldn't go tonight but wants to see the show (sans symphony), she'll be at the McCarter Theatre in Princeton on May 8. She's definitely worth it.
