Anyone who has been to the Tony's Before...

I've gone for the past 3 years, and pretty much what you see on tv is what you get. You are entertained during the commercials, normally by videos and in the past the host coming out (that is when there was a host). Of course, it's much more exhilarating to be there live! That's the fun part of it all, being in the atmosphere (and the afterparty, if you can get a ticket to that haha). Enjoy yourself tomorrow night! I'm kind of sad I won't be there myself this year! You'll have a great time!

During commercial breaks is when they change the sets ( for the next musical number ) - which makes the show looking a little disjointed ( for me, anyway), as compared to the telecast where you only see the smooth transitions ( no crew moving things around on stage . But it is of little consequence compared to the feeling of being part of the theatre community that evening - cheering on all the nominees, regardless of who your favourites are. Wonderful atmosphere that you can't get by simply watching it on TV.

I went last year and they took all cameras. Not sure about cell phones. I know some guy in front of me was taking pictures with his. But he seemed to be the only person around me with a cell on.

I am glad I didn't take a camera. There was a line of people waiting to get theirs back afterwards and I would have missed walking out with all of the performers. That was really fun. I walked out with Jason Robards, Frank Langella, Brian F O'Byrne and Neil Patrick Harris and his boyfriend. It was pretty cool. Have fun! Wish I were there this year!
