I asked at the stage door, and the cast still didn't know if it was happening. I don't see how it couldn't.

amazon has a listing for it with a release date of 5/31/11.
The picture and editorial review are from the Lupone revival, but I think it is indeed the Sutton Foster cast recording.

I think it is just a re-release of the LuPone recording. A lot of other cast recordings are being reissued. Probably just different packaging and remastering.

I thought that too, but the original Lupone recording is still available. That doesn't mean it's not the same though.

They usually release 10 or so at a time, usually not remastered or with new bonuses (except in certain cases, like the 50th anniversary "Gypsy" and the Mary Martin "Sound of Music", which both contained new bonus tracks. Also a few releases has had different cover art, like the Mary Martin "Peter Pan" which was re-released with the original "green" artwork.)

"Fosse" (1999 OBC)
"The Secret Garden" (1991 OBC)*this release I heard will have a slightly different booklet with some new production photos
"Merrily We Roll Along" (1981 OBC)
"Sunday In The Park With George" (1984 OBC)
"Pacific Overtures" (1976 OBC) (which means they will probably never re-master "Pacific Overtures" now, like Sony did with Sondheim's other CDs)

Anyway, back on topic, the only way I see this being released is if the producers record it and get Ghostlight or PS Classics (though probably Ghostlight, since Sutton has a deal with them already), to release it, since it seems like the other "major" lables have passed. Chances may get bumped if Sutton and the show win a slew of Tony Awards (which looks pretty likely), but that's still no guarantee (see the 2004 revival of "La Cage Aux Folles", which won the Tony and Drama Desk for Revival of a Musical).
