In your opinion, which female character would be best or the most fun to play?

Also, who do you think has the biggest female role?

Reno is the lead.

Hope is the 2nd lead.

Bonnie/Erma (depending on which version you're doing) is a supporting role with 1 to 2 songs depending on which version you're doing.

Like Bobby said, Reno is the lead and would be way more fun to play than the 2nd lead, Hope, who is much more straight-laces, Bonnie ('62 Version)/Erma ('87 Version) is supporting but would probably be more fun to play than Hope. Reno is definetley the lead and definetley the most fun!!

If done right, Bonnie can absolutely steal the show along with Moonface.

If they are doing the wonderful 60's version (the best version, imo), then Bonnie has some really fun moments and the great HEAVEN HOP.

In the last high school production I saw, the girl who played Bonnie totally stole the show.

I personally think the ANGELS would be the most fun parts to play..... if I could dance.

Reno is definitely the lead. However, in a production I saw, Erma totally stole the show. And Hope, like so many other sopranos, is kind of a bland role.

I loved the show. My school did it this year as our school's musical. I was the Purser.

The best female role is Reno- she's the sexy nightclub singer/evanglist- many solos but big song is Blow, Gabriel Blow.

Hope follows- the romantic lead girl who falls for Billy but engaged to Sir Evelyn- has solos in Delovely, Bon Voyage and many other songs.

Bonnie (in our production, but in some its Emma) is next- the assisant to Moonface Martin and lastly his love intrest. Sings the song- Heaven Hop.

I was in a production of Anything Goes over the summer. While, yes, Reno and Hope are the leads, a really good friend of mine played Bonnie, and she had a ball doing it...partially because they hung her upside down in one scene.

Anything Goes was our show my senior year in high school and our Reno was definately fabulous. The role itself is definately the more fun of the female leads, but the girl who played her was fantastic. I was one of the angels, which was also a blast!

I just recently played Reno. Reno is the lead, but the hardest role to play. The songs are vocally challenging, especially if you have a good choreographer that will make you belt out a song, and do tap at the same time. I loved playing the part, if you enjoy hard work, and you really love theatre you'll enjoy the part... plus Patti LuPone was Reno, whats better then that?! :)

Ok..this is a voice teacher pleading, Please please please please please audition only for the part that is in your natural singing range. Reno is a challenge for any adult actress, but the range is EXTREMELY low for high school students. If you are a soprano, please don't force your voice into this role just because it's a lead....you could end up doing some serious damage! I really don't think high schools should do this show unless they have a girl who has a very developed and trained alto voice.

OK...rant over......

All that said, this is a great, fun show to do. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

I saw an amazing Rocky Point production of A.G. and Reno and Moonface totally stole the show. They were phenomenal!! Moonface can be HILARIOUS and Reno was just dead on.
The same girl who was Reno played Rosie in Bye Bye Birdie - phenomenal.

I've always thought Anything Goes is such a strange show. It's about Billy and Hope, but everyone else gets ALL the good songs, and Reno is the lead, when the show isn't even about her.

But I guess that's what happens when you have Ethel Merman as your star, lol.

If I was a woman, I would want to be Reno, but Bonnie/Erma wouldn't be bad either.

Bonnie is way better then Erma

Bonnie can totally steal the show with Heaven Hop and Let's Step Out.

I loved doing costumes for this show....
