Is Dreamgirls Still Coming in this season?

Jul 1, 2026 — 8:12:31 PM

Kad said: "The fact that a Dreamgirls revival can't seem to actually come together is one of the weirder Broadway mysteries."It doesn't surprise me. DREAMGIRLS is a very, very specific show that was sort of built on lightning in a bottle; the OBC had six of maybe the most unique talents Broadway has ever known that have all become iconic in their own right - and it was built around their strengths, as well as Michael Bennett's strengths with cinematic direction and choreography. It's also bec...

Paranormal Activity Ready to Spook Broadway

Paranormal Activity Ready to Spook Broadway

VernonGersch said: "For those that have seen - where would you recommend to sit? I heard one doesn't want to be too close." Rear center orchestra or close to the front of the mezz. I agree with the previous poster that you can see what you need up close but to be safe I'd recommend having having a full view of the dollhouse set to increase the tension. Negative space is used in a clever way. You want your eyes to be able to look around in anticipation/fear of what's next.

Broadway's Best Kept Secrets - Passion + Paddington

TotallyEffed said: "I thought Assassins was coming in as well."I heard about this as well but thought it was off-Broadway. I hear more and more about PASSION everyday, it seems like a foregone conclusion at this point. Also with the rumors of Ariana 'pulling out' of the Barbican SUNDAY, I wonder if they are scrapping it across the pond and fast tracking to Broadway given there will be a lot of large houses available.

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 5/24/26

THE FEAR OF 13 is turning into such an interesting study in star casting and producing. It doesn't seem to be grabbing on. I suppose it's not about just casting a star, but the right star(s).Conversely, very interesting to see POTTER back over $1.1mil without Felton.

Is WORKING GIRL transferring? Maybe they pulled the plug because Jojo is no longer available.

BRIGADOON in Pasadena

Which I think is always going to be a hurdle for any BRIGADOON. And the show may need more leeway from the estates to make structural changes than what Silber was allowed.Katie Spelman is certainly proving herself as a director/choreographer in the regions."Katie Spelman is truly a genius. Those that have seen her come up in Chicago know this to b...

Tour of The Ed Sullivan Theater (& 'The Late Show' Set)

(I would live if they create an interesting theatre setup to allow for modern designs of shows).I would also love if they rename it back to honour OscarHammerstein or Hal Prince."Read your first sentence, then read your last sentence. See any contradictions there?"Love you. Get her, Jade!

DEATH BECOMES HER To Close on Broadway June 28, 2026

May 18, 2026 — 1:08:47 PM

Everyone in here saying "more stunt casting", "the producers didn't try", "Laura Benanti"...I don't think truly grasp how difficult it is to find female actors, with name recognition, that not only CAN do this, but would WANT to. I am sure every name thrown out from Benanti to Sherie to Scherzinger (who originated Viola in workshops) were approached. But said actors must WANT to do the job, and it is NOT an easy job to take on. Don't forget Megan Hilty, of all actors probably one of the best ...

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 5/3/26

HaveAGoodShow said: "Serious suggestion:Turn "Death Becomes Her" into an event. Reopen it with Kristin and Idina. Seven shows a week. It prints money."You're assuming they would *want* to do it. That's the problem. There are many that *can* do it, but those that can are generally unlikely to want to.And don't forget Kristin passed on her offer for DBH after developing it for years to do QOV. I doubt there's good will there.

Beaches reviews

Interesting that they want to keep this open through the touring conference in Vegas. Despite the hemorrhage of money, I could see a world where they send out a non-AEA tour.

Paddington at the Al Hirschfeld

Apr 21, 2026 — 11:56:03 PM

I loved Paddington and I loved this cast. But I doubt we’ll see many of the cast transfer, outside of Hameed and Shah.

Lea teased this for so long, and her last role on Broadway was so successful, so I just don't see her leaving it behind after less than a year without looking back. She is best live and on stage (just like her best friend)so I hope she comes back to the role."I would have no problem if she did come back and I was surprised when it was announced she was leaving given how much ...

Lea Michele v Caissie Levy Tony Race

Mar 24, 2026 — 7:48:14 PM

I think it's way too early to tell, although it seems pretty clear Levy and Michele are locks for nominations.I also think it's very likely Marla Mindelle and (especially) Sara Chase will shift the conversation in a really exciting way.
