VERY excited about this one

This is such cool work, thank you for sharing.

Do you mean the Al Hirschfeld?

OMG yes. I'm so embarrassed. Editing.

My bet is on everyone's favorite cuddly British bear to take up residence at the Al Hirschfeld this fall.

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY @ Shakespeare Theatre DC
 Feb 4 2026, 06:02:54 PM

Saw it as well last weekend at the Saturday matinee, and could not agree more. Spooky as all heck and VERY fun. The stagecraft is exceptional with plenty of "how did they do that" moments, and the tension leads to genuinely effective jump scares throughout. The two leads, Travis Knight and Cher Alvarez, are doing exceptional work. Hope it makes it to New York!

2026-2027 Season Tour Launches

Clue is definitely going non-equity (in fact it may already be). There are rumors that Harry Potter is going non-eq too, and i bet Mamma Mia will eventually.

HELL’S KITCHEN To Close - Feb 22, 2026

PRADA feels likely.

I also heard that HUZZAH! is fully capitalized and that could be a good fit for the Schubert.

RAGTIME 2025 New Broadway Cast Recording Thread

I love this album, i love this score, and i love this production. Congrats to everyone, but most congrats go to James Moore, legendary musical director, for his work on this. What an absolute triumph all around.

Odom and Felton are at least age appropriate for their respective roles. Bringing back Gad and Rannells to BOM might be a bit of a stretch of your theory since both are in their mid to late 40s

Are There More New Musicals Coming?

The Heart is terrific and deserves a wide audience. Working Girl is meh on a good day and out of a dozen people we know not a soul liked it. It’s unfixable as there is no reason

Trust me, I do NOT get it either...the Potterheads are an odd breed...but the word on the street is that they moved $40 million in tickets on the first day of sales for his run alone. So even if it is &

OEDIPUS Previews
 Nov 4 2025, 10:47:24 AM

Saw OEDIPUS last night and I have to say it's one of the best things I've ever seen in my life. Absolutely *gripping*. A master class in tension. My heart was pounding out of my chest. Mark Strong is sensational, but Lesley Manville is giving the type of performance that will go down in legend. Her big monologue was...mind blowing.

Not to be missed under ANY circumstance. You will regret not seeing this.

CHESS Previews
 Oct 31 2025, 06:44:32 PM

Saw CHESS this past Tuesday night.

Loved the new take on the material. Bryce Pinkham walks away with the whole thing. Never thought I'd ever see a production of CHESS that worked (albeit arguably - I think there is a division on what this show is "supposed" to be, which is funny considering so few people have actually seen a production) so kudos to Michael Mayer and the whole team for finding a take that is entertaining.

Lea was good, Hannah was impressive,

Lord of the Rings musical (Asia Pacific) enters voluntary administration

I think their initial timing was right, debuting a couple of years after the final move was released, but at that point I think Lord of the Rings fatigue had set in. Plus, as good as the stage piece may be, it feels like the movies satisfied everyone's curiosity."

The other problem is that the musical just really isn't very good. The bones of the piece aren't great. It's heavily expository and the songs are beautiful

DOLLY
 Aug 10 2025, 12:11:11 PM

Got the chance to catch this one this week - in short, it’s far from ready…however, it’s very fixable and there’s definitely good bones. If they can make the proper cuts o could see this one being entertaining enough to be critic proof, like MJ or BEAUTIFUL.

the first act is absolutely plodding, like watching a funeral procession. Lots of gaping pauses in book scenes, low stakes, and seemingly endless (95 mins). The second act moves breathlessly fast and

MAMMA MIA! Previews

I honestly am surprised that, despite my displeasure at how cheap it looked, that The Wiz opted to close instead of keep running through the holidays since they were doing pretty good business. I know Broadway was the last stop of their tour, but they could’ve easily replaced the leads for that latter portion"

This decision probably had less to do with THE WIZ than it did with STRANGER THINGS needing to start working on the space.
