I adored the playfulness of that recording for about 15 years from the first time I heard it until the '87 revival happened.
Although the '87 revival and recording is more sophisticated, I have a warm spot for Eileen Rodgers's Reno and I still love Margery Gray's "Heaven Hop."
Porter was on the decline in 1962. This revival and the Ben Bagley "Decline and Fall of the Entire World As Seen Through the Eyes of Cole Porter" kept his songs alive.
