Anything Goes: 1962 or 1987?

I'm listening to the '62 Off-Broadway production and, while it has some charm, I don't find it as good as the '87 Lincoln Center revival. Just wanted to hear some other opinions and see if I'm in the minority or not lol

I adored the playfulness of that recording for about 15 years from the first time I heard it until the '87 revival happened.

Although the '87 revival and recording is more sophisticated, I have a warm spot for Eileen Rodgers's Reno and I still love Margery Gray's "Heaven Hop."

Porter was on the decline in 1962. This revival and the Ben Bagley "Decline and Fall of the Entire World As Seen Through the Eyes of Cole Porter" kept his songs alive.

I'm partial to the 1962 recording, mostly because that was the version I performed in in 2002.

I like both recordings in terms of just hearing the songs. However, in terms of seeing the show in production I greatly prefer the 1987 version.
