Applause revival next season

Glenn Close would be perfect! I don't love the show, but i do like a few of the numbers. And for some reason "Something Greater" is often stuck in my head...

A bit of a tangent, but does anyone else here HATE the title song? I find it kind of offensive. Of course everyone loves applause, but I think that most actors (myself included) do what they do because of a need to create art, and because they feel that theatre is important. That song only adds to the stigma attached to our profession. And seriously, the Tony Awards presentation of the original cast doing it on YouTube makes me want to throw up.

Just had to toss that in there. Thoughts?

Somethingwicked, Glenn Close as Margo is definitely inspired. I can only imagine how great that would be. Put her with Rose Byrne as Eve! (Sorry, DAMAGES has become one of my all time favorites).
The role of Eve is so boring on stage, she only gets one somewhat good song with "One Halloween" but the song is so short, the moment is ultimately not that powerful on stage as it should be (blame the awful, lazy book). I wouldn't mind seeing someone like Jenny Powers or Kate Jennings Grant as Eve.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

Kate Jennings Grant did the Stefanie Powers tour.

Ebersnore was sick, yes. However, at the book signing for his autobiography, she sang "Welcome to the Theatre" as well, and it sounded TERRIBLE on her. I'm not a big fan, admittedly, but she always seems so bored doing showtunes. And, she just didn't have the star quality that Margo needs.
