I've been trying to do a spring and fall visit to NYC for the last few years but have been behind the ball for this spring so I'm trying to squeeze one in before summer starts creeping in and the Tony noms come out. I wanted to get opinions on when to potentially go and which shows to try to see if possible, I tend to leverage discounts or tkts options so hoping with the amount of new shows out, there'll be some that are available.
I'm looking at either the weekend of April 14th or April 21st. The weekend of 4/14 is Easter weekend, is this typically a packed weekend in NYC/for shows? If so, that might mean the 2nd option is the priority. Also wanted to see, do shows typically start selling out as the Tony nomination deadlines near? Does it make sense to be in town that weekend to catch some shows?
My last trip was in December and The Great Comet was the only new season show I saw - any recommendations on what shows to try and prioritize to see? Broadway/Off Broadway options are all welcome. Any information is greatly appreciated.
