Saw Glenn Close do this pre-Broadway in Los Angeles. Amazing. Subsequently saw Betty Buckley tackle it on Broadway; fantastic! I keep hearing about an imminent film version, but I think Streisand's GYPSY could beat it to the screen...and that's not saying much. In reality, Glenn's already too old for the part, but she's a little more age-appropriate than Barbra in GYPSY. Still, Barbra was looking pretty good in Ben Brantley's New York Times interview this week...and on stage in Los Angeles for her new tour's premiere engagement.

I'm rambling now. I will shut up for a bit.
