re: Are the Hstory Boys Hot?

Unfortuanately, from what I've just read on talkinbroadway, I won't be able to tell if they History Boys are hot, since I've got a front row seat and won't be able to see them. Super. re: Are the Hstory Boys Hot?

Oh well, what do I want for $25? To actually be able to see the show? Pshaw.

But seriously, what does it matter if they are hot....they give you almost 3 hours of great theatre and that's all that matters.

re: Are the H*I*story Boys Hot?

I think it's something about the desks blocking them out or something. I guess I'll find out soon enough, but I hope I can see something. Someone on talkinbroadway said they were in row C and just pretended they were listening to a radio show, since they couldn't see anything. Eeek!

re: Are the H*I*story Boys Hot?

The French scene is the funniest thing ever. Never heard a whole theatre laugh so hard.

And yes, some of them are are hot, but that is so low down on the list of reasons to see this wonderful play.

re: Are the H*I*story Boys Hot?

I a little surprise that this doesn't have more of a teenage girl following. As a former teenage girl, and if distant memory serves me well, there is a lot to like up on that stage (even if none of the have long hair).

This is a terrific show. And it has enough layers that we bothered to buy the script so as to be able to uncover some of the little gems that slipped by.

iflitifloat, it does have as big a teenage girl following here in the UK as it's possible for a piece of theatre with that much poetryu discussion in it to get. :)

re: Are the H*I*story Boys Hot?

Just got back from the mat. Excellent, excellent show!! And luckily, the front row wasn't nearly as bad as I'd feared (I was thinking Belasco-height with full-time desks to further obscure...the scenes in the classroom were a bit obstructed, but not horrible...I missed 2 or 3 of the boys, Dakin unfortunately always included, but I was anticipating seeing nothing but knees poking out under desks or something equally infuriating).

But, back to the topic at hand...beyond being a wonderful play, there was indeed the added bonus of some very cute Brits. Good times.

re: Are the H*I*story Boys Hot?

I'm SO glad it wasn't as bad as you'd hoped. Too bad you missed La Dakin. He's tres hot (does he still have the 'hair cut' dun dun dun. It's ugly)

but hopefully you got a good look at the god that is Jamie Parker (Scripps)

also- glad you enjoyed the play itself (hehe). IT's such a wonderful, thought provoking, hilarious play.

could you see all the projections and such?

re: Are the H*I*story Boys Hot?

Oh, no worries about missing La Dakin at the desk. The fact that he was right in front of me at the very end more than made up for it. A moment or two of eye contact, and I couldn't help but feel a twinge of fangirliness...so sad.

And Jamie Parker is a cutie too. There was something about him that I really liked. I caught my eye drifting to him a lot when they were all there in a group. He was very interesting to watch (as was Andrew Knott...he was right in front of me at one point, and I was bizarrely intrigued by the wooden beaded bracelet that was peeking out under his sleeve).

Aahhh, silly girl.

ETA: Yeah, I could see most of the projections. Some were blocked out by the hanging lights, but nothing too major.

Jamie Parker's my favorite history boy!!!

One of the reasons to see this show...

Sitting front row center got got me a closeup of Dakin during the French scene. hehehehe.

re: Are the H*I*story Boys Hot?

It's a toss up for me between Parker and Cooper (both performance and superficial, cuteness-wise). I found both of them fascinating in their own ways. The whole lot of them are enjoyable in their own ways though, don't get me wrong.

Caroline-Q-or-TBoo, the hair cut is gone! His hair is all hot and cool again.

I've always found Jamie Parker's voice really annoying. Heh.

Are all the audiences appearing to understand pretty much all of the French scene?

re: Are the H*I*story Boys Hot?

Thanks, Mabel, for the reassurance.

I have seats on Row D and was apprehensive that it would also offer only partial viewing. I won't see it till close to TONY time, though.

Lamc16, man, we are right on the same page, in the same boat, the whole nine yards! re: Are the H*I*story Boys Hot?

I was trying not to stare at him the whole time (tough feat since he was right there) and scanned the line for most of the scene, though we did meet eyes a couple times. Yeah, it was kind of funny. I even got a little smile at the curtain call. Even though I'm sure everyone in that seat, at every show, gets the same treatment, I couldn't help but have a swoony-girl moment.

I feel like such a dolt getting all silly about it, but sitting that close can induce kooky responses, right? re: Are the H*I*story Boys Hot?
