I like to do two different genres on double days:
Sweeney then Avenue Q
Wicked then Hairspray
More specifically, I like a cotton-candy ending to a 2-show day!
It's fun and you feel like a champ afterward!

Even though I live only 40 miles from NYC, at least once a year we get a hotel room in Times Square and see 3 shows in 2 days. It's never a problem, after the matinee we go up to our room a relax an hour or 2 before dinner, or have a snack and do dinner after the evening show, and then go to a piano bar. On the 3rd day, after checking out we'd go to a museum before heading home.
Time is precious! Make the most of it while you're here.
