Great Deborah Solomon interview with him in the New York Times Magazine this week. Here's a somewhat controversial quote about the dumbing-down of (at least some) theatrical taste, worthy of consideration at this board:
"...It used to be that a play seemed to resonate into the society a lot more ... and now, it's simply one more entertainment. Maybe the competition has ground down moral and social meaning. Publicity and advertising are the major arts today. They shape the consciousness of the people far more than art does..."

His new play, FINISHING THE PICTURE premieres at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago later this month. Great cast - Linda Lavin, Scott Glenn, Mathhew Modine, Stephen Lang and more. The play is a fictionalized account of the making of "The Misfits".
At least three other theatres in the Chicago area are doing Miller plays at the same time!
With all due respect to Miller, shouldn't he stop digging up the corpse of his ex-wife?

Actually, the main characters in the new play are the writer, director and producers of the movie, and the leading lady's acting teacher.
MasterLcZ - no he should not.
He loved Marilyn, and now that she is gone, he has been ruined.
BUT unlike Gene Wilder, who went through the same situation, Mr. Miller continues to work - WHICH IS AN EXCELLENT THING.
Gene Wilder was shattered by Gilda's death, and has since then, become a hermit.
Thank the lord for Arthur Miller's fortitude !
