Ashley Brown in MP until...?

Hello everyone! I am a newcomer to BWW forums so I don't quite have the ropes here yet. If I ask something out of line go ahead and pimp slap me. It's good to find a place where people just as obsessed with Broadway as I am can post and ask questions about our own little world, plus I'm tired of posting questions on Yahoo Answers. Anyhow, I wanted to know if anyone had an information on how long Ashley Brown will be performing in Mary Poppins? From what I've heard from people and after seeing her Tony Awards performance, she is amazing and a must see. If I go in August of '08 will I still be able to see her?
I know that's a stretch but it never hurts to ask!

Only if she extends her contract. That's a year from now.

I'd say it's unlikely that she'll be in it then, but John Lloyd Young will have been in Jersey Boys for a good two years when he leaves, so anything's possible. But I have a feeling Ashley won't stay too far into '08 is she extends at all.

I guess they started the negotiations with the principle roles. I'm not sure Ashley will extend but she said she wouldn't go anywhere near future during her interview video clip on Broadway.com.

i think they need to bring laura michelle kelly to broadway to play the role i know shes been on broadway befor in fiddler on the roof i have to admit she is a better sorprano than ashley

Really? I disagree with the voice thing...I like Brown's better (but Kelly's isn't shabby!). However, I'd definitely rather see Kelly in the show...she really should have originated it on Broadway...She was highly acclaimed, won an Olivier, and was extremely passionate about the project.

I'd love to see Jenn Gambatese replace Ashley Brown (though I think Ashley will end up signing for another year).

yeah she would be good to but after seeing audra mcdonald as grace in the remake of annie i thought she would be perfect in the role.

I believe I heard that Jenn Gambatese will be returning to Broadway in "Is He Dead?" opposite Norbert Leo Butz this season.

Yes, that's what I heard, as well.
