Does the Atlantic Acting School have an excellent, fair, or poor reputation as an Acting school. Is it difficult to gain admission in to the program or do they admit all who audition?
In the theater community, is there a buzz about the students coming out of their conservatory program?
Does anyone have recommendations about where "to" study?
You'll find more enthusiastic responses on the student board.
Thats where this post belongs.
Its ok, you're new, but you'll find people will respond in kind to posts like this there.
I'd like to hear what working professionals think of this school who might not otherwise go into the "student" section. That is why it belongs where I posted it. Thank you for the advice. Do you have any information to offer regarding the school?
what have you heard about the school specifically? Anything interesting?
thank you so much for responding!!
The school is worth the money. It's definitely a different approach than "method" acting, but very solid in it's own right. At the end of the day, there is no one "best" school. It all comes down to which acting technique brings out the best work in you. Try an introductory class first and see if it clicks.
Read "A Practical Handbook For The Actor". It's a slim book and it explains their technique.
They offer classes through Tisch School Of The Arts in NYU.
It's a good technique. Very analytical. The opposite of method.
