Well, a school trip... we were allowed to take CD players... a girl sitting in front of me.
"What are you listening to?"
"Thoroughly Modern Millie."
"What the hell is that?"
"A musical."
"Ohhh... lame."
Basically, here, they don't care what individual *shows* you listen to - if it's not rap, pop, or "emo", you're unfit to breath air.

i get that all the time! my friends know im broadway obsessed now so they tend to stay away from my cd's and just don't ask. whenever broadway's mentioned in a room everyone turns to me too. because im the ONLY one who likes it in my grade pretty much. i haven't had many "attacks" w/ certain shows i like except w/ my friend about wicked, before i liked rent, poto and jcs.

Posted: 8/21/05 at 2:12pmI was standing in the cancellations line for Spamalot one day, and this lady in front of my sister and I kept turning back to us during our conversation, giving us dirty looks, and turning back around. My sister and I weren't even really talking about anything offensive, just chatting while we were waiting. Now, my sister and I are not keen on rudeness or snobs, so after the umpteenth time the lady turned around my sister looked at her and said, "Why don't you take a picture, it'll last longer." The lady turned back around and didn't turn anymore. However, when she failed to get in, we flaunted the tickets we were offered by a charming couple whose guests had cancelled :)

My group of friends at my school, know that I'm into broadway and I've even been given the nickname "The Broadway Fag" by someone who has a lot of room to speak(he's more obsessed with the mets than I am with theatre, that and I'm straight). That and basically a good amount of the people in my military history class(including my teacher) knows of my love of The Producers and SpamAlot, to the extent that it gets annoying to them or if either or was mention, everyone would look at me. There was also, a friend who thinks that every shirt(broadway or non) is from a play.
