Aubrey O'Day in Hairspray July 18th?

MTV News and Aubrey herself are stating that she will be starring in Hairspray on Broadway starting July 18TH. I was shocked by this because I haven't seen anything about it on here or at Playbill. Does anybody know anything about this? Who she is playing? and what not? I assume that she would be Amber but she could be Penny. btw, aubrey o'day is from the making the band girl group Danity Kane, in case you didn't know.

I didn't know who she was either. I don't think I've watched MTV since it was good, and it hasn't been good for like 10 years.

Well yeah. You would know her if you watched MTV. She was discovered on that station.

She's part of the platinum selling Danity Kane, who have had two number 1 albums.

I love her and think she is hot and talented. I hope I get the chance to see her. Also, when she was on Making trhe Band before she made the group I remember pictures surfacing on the net of her on some regional production of RENT as Mimi. So, hopefully she'll pull this off on broadway.

aubrey is 24 years old and is in the role of amber von tussle.
i do watch mtv but only making the band, life of ryan, and when two a days was on.

i agree aubrey is doing a wonderful job as amber.

Her group Danity Kane is a platinum selling group. And they hold the distinction of the first female group to have both their debut and sophomore albums debut at #1. "Damaged" - their single this year was a huge hit. I'm sorry if you don't know them.

I am under 30, I watch TV, and I still have no clue who she was until now. I've heard of Danity Kane though - just wasn't familiar with each individual member.

I feel like people know their music more than the group or the individual members in it. Unless you're a diehard reality tv or MTV junkie, you probably didn't watch Making the Band. However, if you were played the hit songs they have, you mmight be more likely to know them. "Damaged" was played on repeat for weeks, and still is!

I love perez but he's such a jealous bitch, and I love that he calls her skanky because she might hook up with Ashley Parker Angel but then tells her to because he's hot.

On MTV, they have some clips of her rehearsals and she actually is doing really good with out the costume so I'm sure with the costume and wig she'll really be the part.

She is playing Amber and Danity Kane is actually a pretty big group.. mostly because of Making the Band on MTV but they are pretty good. We are going to see her August 1st I am really curious to see how she does plus we wanted to see the show again anyway. Anyone know how she did so far?

Well, for those who were really doubting her skills, watch this video of her first performance. She sounds pretty good and is dancing up a storm.
