I'm sorry to do this one to you, but I'm in dire need of an audition song for "Seussical" that could double to show my talents for Horton AND the Cat. What can be sweet, but wacky? HELP!
I've been brushing up on "Shy", but I'm not sure if this will work too well...

That's a GREAT idea, and I love that, but I really want to show them that I can do either sweet and sincere OR fun and wacky. See, the audition isn't for speciafically Horton or Cat. It's just for any character in the musical. Those are just the two I'm best for.
what about something from Avenue Q then? You're a good man charlie brown... um what else?
Ooh! All very good! For now, I'm doing "Shy", until someone gives me a better one...

Start off Shy sweet and transition to wacky. That will be more interesting, and your song will also have an arc.
I'm feeling like something from spamalot would be appropriate for Cat in the hat and schmitz too. I can picture anything tim curry singing in the shape of those characters haha.
