I have an audition in March and was looking for a good song to sing for the part of Chauvin in the "Scarlet Pimpernel." I wanted to sing Shrek's Who I'd Be... But will the piano accompaniment be out before March? And any other suggestions? My other choice was Stars from Les Miserables.
I always try to stray away from musical theatre when picking an audition song (is that just me?) unless it's asked for.
If you really wanna go w/ musical theatre, then maybe try something like Sweeney perhaps? Something Sondheim. Good, clear music that has easy to find sheet music.
Many people recommend avoiding Sondheim for an audition as his music is not always the easiest to sight read. I would stick in the whole pop-opera genre, as it is Frank Wildhorn after all.
I think your idea of singing STARS from LES MIZ is great
"TO LOVE ANOTHER PERSON IS TO SEE THE FACE OF GOD"- LES MISERABLES---
"THERE'S A SPECIAL KIND OF PEOPLE KNOWN AS SHOW PEOPLE... WE'RE BORN EVERY NIGHT AT HALF HOUR CALL!"--- CURTAINS
Stars is what I'm guessing would be better for that role.... Any other suggestions though? What about "If I Can't Love Her" from Beauty and the Beast... What do you think about that one?
