#25Seussical Tour Good???????
Posted: 5/9/04 at 12:02pmI saw the show in Schenectady at Proctors Theater....this is the Non-Equity tour with the Sinfonia in the Orchestra. It was interesting......but I wouldnt say good. The vocals were great, as was the Orchestra, even with the Sinfonia, which I've used before, they did a great job patching it in. But the Direction and Choreography disapointed me IMMENSLEY!!!! They staged the opening number with books in their hands....and there could have been much more done with it. The Sour Kangaroo looked like she should have been on the National tour of Rent and got on the wrong bus. I'm sorry, but I wasn't a huge fan. I wish I could have seen the Equity tour to compare it to Broadway.

Well this isn't nearly as big, just a community theatre in Indy.
I am really excited though because...
They like me,
I think they're swell
(And hopefully I can say this) Isn't it remarakable how things turn out so well...
Sheesh I feel corny, I need to get some peppermint sticks and I already had some hot tea and I am drinking a lot of water, and hmmmm I forget what else I'll go back to the audition thread that gave tips.

For everyone who was interested, I found out today that i was cast in the ensemble for Seussical, I held off on saying anything until I knew the result, well because i did the WORST I have ever done in the singing part of the audition. I don't know what went wrong, it's these nerves I get. Well I only had the nerves for the singing part then I settled down. Even though my singing was bad, the dance and line reading went well. It was probably the most fun I've ever had at an audition once I got rid of the nerves. I also found out today that I was getting sick with a viral infection in my throat the day I auditioned. I thought my voice wasn't up to its usual quality but i thought it was just due to nerves. Now I am feeling it though.
So I am very excited this is the first time I have been on stage in FOREVER!!!!! Well in over a year and two months. I am excited to be cast at all. You gotta start somewhere. This is officially my first show outside of high school. I can't wait, I am so excited!
A few of the people who were there told me I had great stage presence and did really well reading so that was good. I really wasn't sure exactly how bad I did singing, but that was my main worry, but I still made it so i am excited. Now I get to show the director that I actually can sing well!
Woohoo! or maybe I should say Woowho!
