Auditioning for a play or comedy, no music

For some reason, my post go deleted. What I was asking was, if you are auditioning for a straight comedy or play on Broadway/Off-Broadway that is not a musical, are you still required to sing? Do you just do a monologue and/or read sides? Is that it?
