AUDRA! Oh, how I love this woman. From the minute I bought my recording of Ragtime and heard her beautiful, haunting " Your Daddy's Son", I made it my mission, to get every cast recording, with her voice on it. Not only a lovley singer, but an amazing actress! I also saw her in "A Rasin in the Sun" and she was amazing! She is quite the preformer all around! I love her!
I remember in 2000, everybody was gushing over Heather Headley. It was all, "Heather Headley this...Heather Headley that...", which I never got. People seemed pretty ambivalent towards Audra. If it were me, I would've given Audra that Tony in a second. Her pitch-perfect delivery of LaChiusa's wrenching material-particularly, the heart stopping "Tell Me", which, IMHO, is one of the best songs written for Broadway in the last 20 years-were absolutely brilliant. She should have won a Tony for MARIE CHRISTINE. But, what can you do?
I was thinking about this the other day, since she's been in the Sweeney Todd, Passion, and Sunday in the Park with George Concerts, if they did an A Little Night Music would she be perfect for Anne?

By the Way, for anyone in the D.C. area, Audra will be making a free appearance at Poe Middle School in Annandale, VA as the season closer in their ArtSpeaks! program on June 11, at noon. She'll perform a few songs and do a Q& A. I know I'll be there!
and she's equally great in a non-musical like WIT.
WIT is flawless in everyway. That scene after Emma Thompson dies is incredible. Burst out into tears...
And let's not forget her turn as Grace in Annie......btw, does could anyone post a pic of her and her husband and/or children??????
Go to Gettyimages.com and do a search on her. On the last page there is one with her holding a pic of her daughter at the Tonys. That's the closest you're gonna get. As far as her husband, go here and scroll down.

He's CUTE(and white), btw, is that a pic of her in Master Class at the bottom??????
yep. There arent many pics from that production floating around(not that I've found anyways).
The woman is famazing. I'm so happy that I live within walking distance of Ravinia Festival (in Chicago area). They've been doing Sondheim productions for the past five years and she's participated in almost, if not all of them (which have also starred Michael Cerveris, Patti LuPone and George Hearn). I saw her last year in Sunday in the Park With George, and she just shined!!! Cannot wait to see her this year in Anyone Can Whistle!
