Gracious, genuine, engaging, courageous... I could go on and on. And that voice! What a witty and thought provoking story teller. I highly recommend you RUN to see her if/when she comes to a theater near you. The crowd couldn't get enough. At risk of posting any unwanted spoilers I'll just say emphatically that I loved every minute of it.

It really was an incredible performance. Having last seen Audra in a solo concert in 2000, it was remarkable to see how much she has grown in that type of setting. She just seemed so much more relaxed and confident, and her voice was phenomenal. Seeing how funny she was and how she handled the humorous songs made me really long to see Audra do a lighter musical role than she normally does.

Interestingly, in the past few months, I've seen Kristin Chenowith and Bernadette Peters in concert, but I didn't find them either to be nearly as engaging or funny as Audra. She didn't need the rehearsed shtick to make people laugh.

As an aside, I did have a good laugh when my friend, who was at the 2000 concert, said it was amazing to compare Audra to when we saw her before -- "when she was just starting out." I had to respond by saying that was "when she only had three Tonys."
