August: Osage County Casting

Just a query as to the rumors being true that there will be other new cast members joining Ms. Rashad, that will better reflect a multi-racial family? Again, I only have heard rumors, but I was curious if it was just speculation.

And to maybe throw my two cents into the ring, that is if they are opening the casting pool: What about Whoopi Goldberg for Mattie Fae? Am I crazy in seeing this?

I think she would be great, but not sure if she has time to do it right now. Xanadu was a little different, especially since it was over the summer.

I think there is the possibility of having some great new talent in the show if they are really doing this.

I still don't think the multi-racial thing works for this show, but that being said, I would love to see Anika Noni Rose take a stab at Sally Murphy's character.

It would just be her performance of Ghost on stage, but i'd see it.

There is NO way Whoopi can do Osage AND The View.

Whoopi definitely couldn't do OSAGE at this point, but she'd make a great Mattie Fae indeed.
I think Viola Davis or Tonya Pinkins would make excellent Barbaras.

Regardless of schedule with the View, I don't think Whoopi could do Osage AT ALL.
