Hey, I was at JohnT's Ad-Liberty show on Jan. 24th... it was great, but short, a little over an hour. He sang "YMCA", "My 2nd Cousin", "Taylor the Latte Boy" (hilarious!), and other songs as well. He also did a parody of "Kids Incorporated", the TV show he loved when he was young, complete with cheesy costumes and confetti in the end. I was a bit disappointed that Rod did not make an appearance! Jennifer Barnhart and Gaelen Gilliland were fabulous as backup singers. I talked with Gaelen after the show, she is hoping that JohnT's show will continue to accrue interest, they will keep on doing the show as long as people buy tickets. Their next performance is Feb. 4.
Honestly though, even though the night was a lot of fun, I would say $25 is better spent at the lottery at Avenue Q, that is, if you're lucky enough to get tix. I'd rather spend $25 on a musical than a cabaret show. If you're not having dinner, then you get stuck in the back of the room, at the bar, behind big posts and horrible views of the stage. I showed up an hour early, and got a relatively good seat, but still had to peer around a big post that was blocking the view of the stage.
