My friend and I are going to try the Ave Q lottery for the first time this weekend and we've never done it and I was just wondering where the seats were located and if the lottery was normally really crowded? We don't feel like rushing in this cold and we never got the chance to see Ave Q. Thanks for any information!

The seats are in the front row and there is only 12. Since most people ask for 2- they don't pick 12 names...closer to 7 or 8.
I wouldn't call the lotto "crowded" but there is a good chance you won't win because there are only a few names picked.
Edit: If you don't win the lotto- I suggest you get tickets anyway (they are usually on TKTS)- In my personal opinion- it is THE BEST show on Broadway!

in my opinion not the best( les mis is the best) but avenue q is high up there; try lotto and if you lose then go to tkts. you need to see it! its hysterical
As the others have posted: not a great lotto.
Best lotto: Hairspray. usually no one there or a small crowd.
If you do lotto and lose try TKTS or get rear mezz at the box office like I did when my aunt & I lost.
It truly is hysterical.
Something you need to experience.
I suggest rear mezz. or TKTS too, since its a show you really should see.
When I saw it I sat in the very last row of the rear mezz. and the vew was still fine since the Golden isn't a very big theater.
Heck yes, Rachel2789
We rear mezz Q-kids need to stick together.
Ha, yes! That was back in July of '05, though. I wish I went to the city more often (stuck in MA at the moment) so that I would have more chances to see it.
