I saw the tour last night and while it's my first time seeing the show, I was familiar already with a few of the songs.
Does anyone know why Christmas Eve's line "tried to work in Korean deli" was changed to "Chinese restuarant"? Are we so dumb in the flyover states that we wouldn't haven't gotten the joke?

It was also changed for the London production,

I guess they're dumb there, too.
I don't get the need for the change.
Wait, you guys actually know what a deli is?

I envy you the chance to have seen Rob McClure. He was GREAT here in Buffalo
I don't think they have Korean deli's in Peoria.
I thought it was a New York/L.A. kinda thing... don't they change Hicksville to Jersey in the Rent tour? I think it's the same kinda thing... but maybe I'm wrong.

Yeah, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know what a Korean deli is from your context clues (ie, the words Korean and Deli), even if you don't know what one is. Eh, I just thought it was an odd change.
And yeah, Rob McClure was fantastic.
