Avenue Q: Puppeteer "costume?"

I know the "Avenue Q" puppeteers wear black, as evidenced by all the pictures of them during the show. But do they have to wear the same outfit each night, like another actor would wear the same costume for each performance?
I don't know what made me thik of this; my mind wanders all over the place sometimes...

Posted: 1/13/05 at 8:27pmI believe so. I believe the "costumes" are by Deisel -- black jeans and a black shirt. It's basic and casual enough as to keep the focus on the puppet.

Posted: 1/13/05 at 8:40pmYes they do wear the same costumes each night although they've had to buy new versions of them a few times already.

" you take the shirt. I'll take John."
LOL . .. .can we share?

Posted: 1/13/05 at 9:52pmThey intentionally wear "off black" so that they don't appear stark black and draw attention to themselves. The softer color eases it a bit.

Posted: 1/14/05 at 11:45pmThis might seem odd, but what about Stephanie's understudy? Will she wear a skirt if she goes on?
#20re: Avenue Q: Puppeteer 'costume?'
Posted: 1/14/05 at 11:47pmNo, Jen Barnhart and Aymee Garcia wear pants
#21re: Avenue Q: Puppeteer 'costume?'
Posted: 1/14/05 at 11:48pmSo as new actor(es)s come into the show will they have there own "costume"?
#22re: Avenue Q: Puppeteer 'costume?'
Posted: 1/14/05 at 11:51pmYes, each individual puppeteer has their own costume, understudies included (for example, Barrett doesn't wear John's grey shirt with the emblem on it when he understudies Princeton/Rod)
