This past Monday night I was priviledged to be invited to a private first reading of a new musical by the insanely talented Bobby Cronin, here in Chicago. The cast consisted of several of the cast members of Wicked and Spelling Bee. The show is called B.R.A.T.S. and is about 6 troubled teens who get sent to a wilderness camp in order to be straightened out. The script went from being hilarious to evoking tears. The music is incredible. Very contemporoary musical theatre with a rock feel. It was one of the most exciting nights of theatre I have ever been to. The entire cast was incredible in their roles, and they sang their faces off. Producers take notice! This is sure to be a huge Broadway hit. I'm sure there will be future readings, and hopefully a recording. Keep your eyes and ears open, if you can see a presentation of this piece drop everything and go!
Hahaha, I can assure you I am far from a shill. I am just really excited to see that there is a great original idea out there. With all the negativity that gets posted here I just thought it would be nice to hear something positive for once.
One day I was babysitting my neice and she begged me to watch the Bratz CGI show (which her mother forbids). Anyways, the episode we saw was about some girls going camping in the wilderness and dealing with nature.
Butters, go buy World of Warcraft, install it on your computer, and join the online sensation before we all murder you.
