Can someone fill us in on what's going on there? There are some unsubstantiated rumors milling about.....

SUPPOSEDLY...The Reprise Board asked Marcia Seligson to resign. Supposedly Jim Guardia is now the interim managing director.

She founded the organization and she handpicked the board so this is a big shocker if it's true.

Assuming it's true, nobody's willing to spill the beans on how and why. The press release will supposedly read "resigned by mutual consent".

Additional note: if you go to the actors equity audition board for the Western region, you'll notice the "City Of Angels" auditions went up today. Seligson is not listed as producer on the audition breakdown, Guardia is. I wondered about that today when I read it. A new casting agency is also now handling their stuff. Bruce Newberg used to do it, now it's Julia Flores. Aaaahhhh, the unrest.

I got 100% confirmation from an insider yesterday. She was most definitely ousted by the board, although the press release is much more kind.

And I've been called in to audition for "City of Angels," and yeah, it's Julia Flores, but I don't know if that means Bruce won't be casting for Reprise at all anymore, or if they're just shaking things up.

Julia Flores is wonderful. I think at this point changes will do Reprise some good. ( they had a huge exodus in subscribers due to the poor productions and other things).

Though recent productions have definitely improved Reprise's reputation, especially the (as far as I know) unanimously praised On The Town. Anyway, thanks for the backstage info!
