So I have to decide between Color Purple with Fantasia and Beauty and the Beast with Annelise... so a few questions...
will John still be with BATB
are Latoya and Michelle still with the Color Purple tour
and some thoughts... I've already seen The Color Purple and I've seen Fantasia in concert... which kind of makes me think I should see BATB, but it also means that I really love both of them so maybe I should see the two together.
Also I have been in an excellent production of BATB so I might be super critical... BUT i LOVE annelise... so this will be tough
If you've already seen TCP, see Beauty! It is a beautiful and magical show that will be sorely missed when its gone.
You've already seen THE COLOR PURPLE, and you know BEAUTY AND THE BEAST because you were in it.
Especially considering that BEAUTY is in horrid shape these days, go see one of the great, exciting new shows! why see the same things? COME ON, you people kill me.

Honestly, given the choice, I'd say BATB. If you haven't seen it on B'way, go see it before it closes. Don't kick yourself for not.

in response to that, I've seen or am seeing all the new shows on the same trip... except the Pirate Queen... and I just don't want to see that... so I want to visit an older show
But what about things like LOVEMUSIX, FROST/NIXON, INHERIT THE WIND, JOURNEY'S END, UTOPIA, 110, MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN?
I just feel that if someone can't come into the city all the time, don't see a show that's been run into the ground. Make it count.
Yup, ditto, don't see any of those shows. Did you see A Chorus Line?
I personally would have reasons to go either way with these shows. When I went to NY in March, I went for BATB because I figured it'd be my last chance to see it on Broadway, so I don't regret it for that reason.
But if we're thinking outside the box, I totally nominate FROST/NIXON. Sure, the script doesn't stand up to much scrutiny, but Langella is phenomenal, and I loved Sheen as well. Or LOVEMUSIK, so I can live vicariously through you. ^_^
Or, if you'll be there for it, Patti LuPone in Gypsy?
Honestly,
The OP said that they wanted to see eiather beauty or color puprle and wanted your input on thoes two shows.
They never had once said what should I see I need an idea for a show to see. They had said the shows that they wantd to see.
God for bid someone sees a show that you don't like. It's not the end of the world. Just shut up they never asked what show to see. If this were a what show should I see thread then it would be okay but it isn't so shut the hell up.
thank you for that... and to let you know... in the past year i've seen:
Wicked
DRS
Rent
Drowsy
Tarzan
Purple
Wedding Singer
Grey Gardens
Evil Dead
Les Mis
Chorus Line
Spring Awakening
and on this same trip that I'm asking about BATB vs TCP I will be seeing
110 in the Shade
Stairway to Paradise
Legally Blonde
Wicked (i am in love with Julia)
and Company

Clearly, you two need some lessons in reading comprehension. No where did we say that we didn't like the shows that he was choosing. We were merely saying that since the poster himself stated that he had already seen PURPLE and clearly knows BEAST because he was in it, that maybe he should look into other things as well.
There is NOTHING wrong with suggesting shows, just as there is nothing wrong with someone seeing a show more than once. So perhaps you should educate yourself (Winston) on other people's intentions before you haphazardly come on here and act like a little ****.

Beauty & The Beast - It will be talked about for years, and you will be able to say that You were there.
Munk,
It comes across as annoying when someeone is asking your input on two shows not what they should see. Throwing out names of shows that the poster didn't ask about is you being a little SH*T. If your saying that I have to learn reading comprehension then you have to learn to actually read what the poster was saying. This isn't a thread where he is asking what to see. If you had any brains at all you would have realized that a long while ago. If you had any inmput on those two shows great but he wasn't asking about what shows to see. And the OP actually agreed with me. He was the one that started the topic so maybe you should shut the hell up before you turn into more of a pompus Ass then you already are.
Winston,
It comes across as annoying when someone is discussing their posting and subsequent responses when someone else comes along and attempts to scold people for something that this poster has nothing to do with at all. I addressed his question, then merely suggested that - while he's here - he see other things. That was before, you see, I knew that he had seen or was planning on seeing most of what's new.
Arguing with a person such as yourself is like trying to talk sense into an inanimate object.
I'll cut my losses now and just chalk this up to you being a relentless idiot.
