I think that is what she means.

I was just wondering about that today too.

The CD would have been sucessful with Josh Groban alone not even counting Adam, Raul, Sutton and Julia
It does suck re: BC/EFA Chess concert

I think it was problems with Josh Groban's recording contract. Him not being able to record anything under a different label or something. Too bad though. I would love to have a recording of that show.

Hell, replace Groban, Id rather hear the rest. I'm sure Adam's pity the child was well worth it. what songs did Groban sing?

Adam's Pity the Child was AMAZING. As was Raul's big number. And of course, Julia Murney sang the sh*t out of Nobody's Side. And well, then you have her and Sutton's duet of I Know Him So Well! $&%*#(%&#*$&#&$ It was that good.....

I love Raul singing The Arbiter's Song, or whatever the hell it's called. But it's weird, I'll talk to people about Chess, and say something about The Arbiter's song, and they give me their best "WTF?" look. I take it it's not in most versions of the show, or something. Gotta love his sunglasses, though.

I think I fell in love with Julia when I heard Nobody's Side. It was one of those "jaw, meet ground" moments.

And Pity the Child will always be one of my favorite Adam moments. C#? And he makes it looks so EASY. Besides the fact that he acted his butt off. Ugh. So good. re: BC/EFA Chess concert

There were definitely like two full minutes of applause. That was happy.

Can we talk about the sunglasses for a second?

Yeah, I don't think the Arbiter's number is on most of the cd's. I love the sunglasses!

I also loved the part where Raul totally checked out Josh Groban! I'm sitting there, and before I know it he gave Josh the quick look up and down.

Oh, and I forgot to mention it earlier, but Sutton's Someone Else's Story was priceless. Good god, I love her.

Hah, over two years later, and people are STILL talking about this concert. Bravo Seth! Bravo!

There was a BC/EFA concert of CHESS in the late '90's at the Douglas Fairbanks Theater. Rob Evan, Brian d'Arcy James, Christiane Noll and Alice Ripley were the leads. Fantastic concert and great cast party afterwards.

Yeah, Michael Cerveris was involved with that too. I think maybe he was actually the Arbiter then.

I've heard him sing "The Story of Chess". Me likey. A lot. I just wish I could have heard him sing the other song as well.

I thought Adam's "Pity The Child" was weak. I expected more from him. Sutton and Julia were perfect as Florence and Svetlana.

The weird thing about the Julia/Sutton combination is that Julia is just SO fierce, that as talented as Sutton is, she felt really overshadowed to me. Julia was originally supposed to play Svetlana, and Lara Fabian was going to be Florence. Wonder how that would've been.

At the sake of sounding like I'm pissed off, which I'm not trying to do, you thought Adam sounded weak? Certainly not rock-belt style like he sounds better on, but I'd not call it weak... and that's a tough song to sing. *shugs* to each his own. re: BC/EFA Chess concert

Yeah, I thought his portrayal of Freddie was weak. I was also perturbed that he carried his book during "Pity The Child" as well. And, yes it is a VERY hard song to do.
