I'm seeing this in November. I'm looking forward to it, especially after reading the rave reviews. I've seen only one other English play and that was "The Woman in Black" in the West End. That was a HORRIBLE play. I hope that that's not the shape of things to come with "Brief Encounter."

My searches on the board have proven fruitless but any word on a cast album with this cast?

"Go Slow, Johnny" is from Noel Coward's SAIL AWAY, and the song is on the original cast album (unfortunately, out of print).

Actually, it is back in print thanks to our friends at DRG. They have added a bonus disc of Coward sining the score:

Oh - just saw that it IS deleted again but available used for reasonable prices. Well worth getting even if you have the Broadway Angel edition because of the bonus material.

UPDATE: DRG still has copies listed on their website for $8.09. Get 'em while you can!

http://www.drgrecords.com/SearchResult.asp?pid=&title=Sail+Away&artist=&description=&category=all&order=Artist+Name&pagename=result_list&size=4&submit.x=23&submit.y=24

**We will probably see a lot of those DRG reissues being deleted soon as their window for each release was 5 years of 5,000 copies whichever runs out first.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

I may or may not go to see this. Wife doesn't want to go, so I'd be going it alone..... Part of our subscription....
