I came over here from there. i'm surprised they're closing it though since all they care about is ticket sales, and the board has to help with their traffic?
I also came over here from Broadway.com...and I just posted the longest message I have posted in my 9 months there....yes- I know its not that long- heheh. Hopefully I'll be more active here!! :)

Just for the reason you mention that board traffic helps ticket sales.

You know what, it's been down so much lately, it wouldn't surprise me if they ARE getting ready to pull it. It almost seems like something they would do. Things do sometimes get out of hand....

I came over here from the Broadway.com board. I'm still not clear on why they decided to get rid of that board. Oh, well. Hi, everybody.

Wow! With Roscoe here, we're really rolling!
Piglet - where are you? Get over here from ATC and Broadwaywhatsitsname.
And here I thought that I would never get to speak to you again! What a relief!
Did you see the last post from me over on Bway.com??

Piglet, is that the message from that "other" place you are referring to about rewrites for "The Boy from Oz"?
Even the investors in "The Boy from Oz" were not given a final script because it is still a work in progress.
And I would guess that during rehearsals changes will still be made as this is a fairly substantial rewrite from the Australian edition. As you know on ATC people are calling it a hack-job. But it really isn't. The show was marvelous in Australia but was very, very local in many ways and really needs some changes for American audiences who don't know Peter Allen in the same way that Aussies do.
I don't agree with many of the changes (or even some of the U.S. casting) but I understand the need for it.
Meanwhile Jarrod in Oz in America and Paul Mercurio in Monty in Oz...oh lordy, lordy!!!!!! What an October this is shaping up to be. Running back and forth between Melbourne and New York City!

"Reunited, and it feels so good....."
Sorry, cheesy song, but oh so appropriate! Sure is great to see familiar posters appearing here. And yes, especially you, IssaMe! Whatever would Piglet and I do without your Jarrod/Oz updates! LOL! So keep us apprised, please, and thank you!
NOT! LOL!
Anyway...welcome to my 2 favorite posters! IssaMe annd Badseed...who onnly has 7 days until she and that sexy ass hubby of hers gets to NYC! And remind him when he gets off the plane that I just may kick his butt! LOL!
Anyway!!!
I completely agree with what you said about the other feelings over on ATC. IssaMe, since you have seen the show, do youthink there is anything else that Jarrod MAY be given to sing? I know its speculation, but the thought of it keeps me happy at work! Heehee! Boring!!!

...or at least his people have.
No indication yet of another song for him. However, as he represents the American part of Peter Allen's life, there is a chance. So much goes on in this musical that nobody other than Peter really has all that big a part (Liza and Judy have very important roles but the center of attraction is really Peter throughout as he moves through his life all around the world).
The hardest part is to convey why this cult artist in America is so important. In Australia, you can't imagine how big an icon Peter Allen was. So the musical had a built-in "interest factor" when it played there from the get-go...here on Broadway, he might be remembered for not making it as big as he could have (Legs Diamond in particular)...whereas, in Australia and hence in the Australian version of the musical, his monumental success is a given and it goes from there. The basic premise underlying the musical varies between there and here. Hence, the new bookwriter and new focus.
And are Badseed and I his people? LOL! And if so, why are you not part of our group??
Now...since the emails seem to be listed...might we know how you are affiliated with the show? or any show???? I'll tell you if you tell me! LOLOLOL!
I need air!

So hi everyone..
Quite a shame about Broadway.com closing their board. I was relatively new to the board -- I found it when I was planning a trip to NYC earlier this year. I'm looking forward to the discussions here!
Me too, everyone on this board is so cool, I look forward to meeting everyone.

First Playbill OnLine closed their chat room and message board. Now Broadway.Com's Message Board is gone. What next? there are just so many disappointments a person can endure in a lifetime!
