Put simply...I think the show was stupendously creative, and very well put together. I enjoy it...very much
Maybe if audience just looked at it as a joke it would be easier to watch. Like so cheesy it's hilarious.

it is cheesy - yes.
but it is told as a fairly tale and if you look at it from that point of view, then it is less lame and more understandable. the fault: the story is written and narrated in a way meant for children. which is why many adults and mature audiences loose patience with this show.

It certainly gave every indication of having been conceived, written, composed and directed by homeless people.
