Sounded marvelous!
Boy! Josh Strickland!
After shes done with the Mary Poppins tour, I want to see Ashley Brown create a non-Disney role.
It was great to hear bits of those songs that were cut from Disney shows. Gotta love Alan Menken!

I completely agree, IdinaBellFoster!
Loved hearing them sing these songs, although I do wish that more focus would be put on MOVING people rather than IMPRESSING people..."A Change in Me" is a good example of that.
josh, please come back to the stage, now!
Thanks for the footage.
"A Change in Me" just doesn't seem like a very moving song, because it's always performed, no matter who sings it, as LISTEN TO ME BELT THIS SONG! But Ashley does sing it beautifully.
I don't know about you, Sierra Boggess singing "Never Again" moved me, I'd like to hear a full recording of her singing that.
As for Josh Strickland, great performance (great acting of a GREAT song) but for Christ's sake take it DOWN a few octaves!
"A Change In Me" is a lot of angsty belting, but you gotta think about the song. It's her 11 o'clock number; where we get to see her inner most thoughts come out to us. "Home" is good, but "A Change In Me" is better. It further explores that idea of "What is home? Who am I in this town and in my life? What is my place? This is where I belong. I have been changed and I am OWNING this." Notice whenever Belle belts, she's going through a transformation or discovering something new.
I'm aware of the meaning of the song, it's one of my favorites and I feel that it's right for the moment in the show and yes she is coming into her own and realizing things about herself thanks.
But what I was saying is that the song just doesn't come across that way because it's always performed as a "listen to me belt!" number, and it comes across as more of a showoff number, hence the tweaked majestic ending as opposed to the original more subdued ending.
I just finished a workshop in which the director would sit and listen to us as we looked at him, really just trying to tell the story and be in the moment and feel it however we wanted to, and he was constantly going, "Shhh...shhhh" because we would start to try to belt it out or act it or think about it.
So I'm really aware of everything he told us and how differently I experienced my songs when I didn't try to impress anyone and told it truthfully and just...as me, in the moment.
It changed how I listen to singers drastically.
And count me in as someone who wants to hear Sierra sing all of Never Again!
Wow. I'm impressed.
I would say that Josh Strickland should sing that song if we get a Hunchback transfer, but I'm afraid he's too pretty.
Too bad.
Disney magic can make people ugly.
Haha! Why do you say so, fnyboi?
Amazing!!! Now this would be a great album to be released on CD(and or DVD) in its entirety. Well, at any rate, our BWW exclusive video is awesome, thanks Craig and gang! Was there any publicity ahead of time for this event? I would have loved to attend, and I always look/search for events such as this one, but I only heard about this after the fact. Oh well, At least BWW has furnished us with a very cool video!
It was a private event/concert given by Disney Theatricals for the road show theaters. So even if you knew about it ahead of time, it was invite-only...
Do you have a list of songs possibly? I love all the cut songs and I would love them to release a CD.
I believe the only songs performed were the ones within the clip.
all of the songs are featured in the video. It was a short concert.

Thanks for the response Craig. I thought maybe I just snoozed through the announcements, Haha. I do not feel so bad now, and I even more appreciate you and the BWW gang for bringing us truly "exclusive" clips such as this one. Thanks for making BWW my primary Broadway information and community site!
josh strickland needs to be back on broadway NOW!

While I appreciate the posting of this concert and how well everyone performed, Sierra and Ashley's performances seemed really forced. they have wonderful belt technique and when you watch them sing, their giant mouths are unleashing a lot of sound. But volume/force does not equal acting or lyric sensibility. Too much. Josh had to "go there" because the song is the Hunchback's own big 2nd Act song and it was written for a high tenor. It would be wonderful to see him as Quasimodo if they ever brought it over to the states.
I agree that Josh needs to be back in a show right away. Gorgeous and talented.
