That's so cool. Broadway re-opens and the actors put on a free show (with a killer lyric about the Hollywood strike).
Eventually, out here, the WGA and the AMPTP will settle and this is the response we'll get:
"Hey, the strike is over!"
"Up. Uh.... wanna go to Pinkberry?"

It was either Lea Michele or Kerry Butler, but I'm leaning more towards the former.
That was cute. "Oh, look, stagehands!"

Wow - 3 things struck me while I watched that video.
1. Its great to see Angela Lansbury on stage doing anything.
2. Cheyenne has amazing charisma.
3. Jonathan Groff may be cute but he has zero stage presence. I've seen high school actors with more magnetism.

Watched it again - it's Lea.
I love how Cheyenne's the loudest on that first song. He really knocked it down. It makes me sad that they gave Max von Essen all the littlest singing parts. He should have more.

Ah, now I see where it states there will be a full video. Too bad this flashplayer or whatever it is on this site is always so fidgity/skippy on my computer.

It was cool seeing the interviews, I look forward to more of those. My favorite of the brief ones there were Howie and Jenn and the puppets, vey funny.

This concert was a total joy yesterday!
Bob Martin's opening monologue was hilarious.
"I mean, how many times can middle aged gay men go and see HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS? The answer is once. After that the ushers begin to keep a close watch on you."
Angela Lansbury is THE greatest living legend of Broadway. She was a total pleasure to watch.
(IN THE HEIGHTS fans: Seen in the audience was Lin-Manuel Miranda looking adorably spiffy as ever.
)
Totally worth the wait. Especially since the wait was inside for a change!

Also, a HUGE thank you to all of the actors who got up early, and in makeup, wigs, and costumes just to do this concert.
Especially the actors who had still been performing eight times a week during the strike (Cheyenne & Kerry!)
