That's it. Bye guys. We had a great time. (I personally can't wait for 'Curtains' to open in the fall...) However, I was surprised that Mike Nichols couldn't hold it together for at least one consecutive sentence. We were all sad and emotional, but still. Pierce and Azaria (with flowers in arms) and the audience seemed to be surprised, sad at the shortness and lack of importance of it all. It was a wonderful show, however, with quite a few references to the good-bye and nice ad libs throughout. Standing ovation for David Hyde Pierce's song. Have a great party everyone! Hope to see you again in our theatres.
Isn't Beale in the show for three more weeks?

Beale leaves at the end of the month.
I am so glad I got the chance to see Pierce and Azaria. They were absolutely amazing and Pierce really astounded me!
I very much enjoyed all three of thier performances.
They were a lot of fun, weren't they...

I was there also & disappointed that Mike Nichols could not finish what he had prepared. There was nothing for David or Hank to respond to or say good-bye to Broadway. David Hyde Pierce did come to the stage door for autographs and enthusiastically said he would be back to Broadway. Hank Azaria did not come out. They will be missed, but the show is SO GOOD, I want to see it again with the new cast.
I cant imagine anyone being better than Hank. He was amazing! I am curious how the next person will tackle it though...

I really can't see anybody being better than Hank either, but Steve Kazee can now be added to the list of Spamalot cast members with hilarious bios:

Oh, how sad! I didn't know they left in really early April. I'm very glad I saw them in it, they were amazing. And I agree with SpamalotDiva, I just hope Christian stays for a while (Michael was out when I saw it).
Why couldn't Mike Nichols finish what he had prepared? Was he emotional or was he interrupted? Can someone explain? Thanks..

He was just really emotional--crying from the first word.
Does anyone have tickets this week to see the new members of the cast?
I first saw Spamalot with Alan Tudyk (sp?) as Lancelot and he was fantastic! It's only in the last week that I've come to fully appreciate the comic genius Hank Azaria brings to the part - his ad-libbing has been pants-wettingly funny.
I was fortunate enough to see HA & DHP's final show, also saw it with Tim Curry and Sara Ramirez, and think Christian Borle, Christopher Sieber and Michael McGrath are OUTSTANDING - I'm just not sure how big a draw the show will continue to be without any 'big' names. (Especially given the level of vitriol it attracts on message boards such as this). :-p

Just saw it on 3/16; didn't realize HA & DHP were leaving. Was expecting DHP to be great, but HA owned the show. I couldn't stop laughing. It was just a terrifically fun evening. Glad I caught both of them.
I'm sad I missed Hank(though I did like Alan a lot). Has anyone seen the show since then? How's the new cast?
I'm seeing it next week... not familiar with the original cast, but I will let everyone know how the new cast is! (My dad was devastated when he found out they were leaving right before we see it. I thought he was going to cry.)

I have tickets for May and September----I'm disappointed that the 3 leads are leaving and I'm very anxious about the new cast. However, I agree with those who said "as long as Michael McGrath and Christian Borle stay, it's ok" They're amazing and I'm really hoping to see them both times.
