It was UNBELIVABLE! I was sitting four seats away from Frenchie Davis in the alumni section. There were many standing ovations from the mezz, but not so many from the orch. It was crazy fun! I’ll post more in a little bit!
EDIT TO ADD:
Renee has never been one of my favorite Mimis, but her “Out Tonight” was VERY impressive (lots of cool vocal and physical additions). “Take Me Or Leave Me” may have gotten the loudest ovation of all. Tracie and Eden were completely on. Eden’s “Over the Moon” was the best I’ve seen. Will was great as usual. He got choked up towards the end.
One of the best moments was “La Vie Boheme” because all of the past cast members were doing the choreography. The audience was audibly crying during “I’ll Cover You (Reprise).”
The performance after the curtain call with the original cast was a smaller version of what they did at the 10th Anniversary. Idina, Taye, and Adam were absent.
I have to do hw, but I’ll write more later!

I was there as well, it was amazing. Eden was on fire! She was phenomenal! The whole show was amazing, I loved how they kept the show normal. It was very well done. The crowd was loving it and it was so sad. I held myself together and didn't cry much. I will post a better review tomorrow.
I also got a huge poster, the lady sold it to me for 20 bucks! It wasn't even for sale.

That's so cool seeing the other cast members doing the choreography! I'd probably start crying if I saw all of them crying.
I can't wait for the full review!

I just got home. Like defyinggravity said... completely unbelievable. I think the show was 10 times better than the best performance I've ever seen. I saw the matinee yesterday, and thought it was an awesome show, which is why I couldn't believe it got even more amazing tonight. Everyone was completely on fire, and there were standing ovations for many of the songs during the show. I was sitting in the section next to all of the Rent alumni, and they were beyond awesome. They cheered, applauded, and danced throughout the entire show.
I'm not going to lie, I bawled like a baby during the show. But as defying said, during I'll Cover You (reprise) it was clear the majority of the people around me were crying as well. And not just casual sniffling.
There weren't any speeches, which was disappointing, but all the OBC members there (everyone but Adam, Taye, and Idina) went onstage and sang SOL, like they did at the 10th Anniversary. Everyone kinda hung around on stage for a while before and after they sang, and gradually they all began to leave the stage.
Overall, it was really an amazing night, and I can't wait to see how the show is going to look in movie theaters.

I'm gonna go song through song. But I'm gonna skip the Voice Mails and some other songs because nothing was very special.
When they came out on stage- Standing Ovation immediately for a good 2 or 3 minutes. Then Adam said which I really loved "We dedicate this performance to Jonathan Larson." like what Anthony said after he passed away. That was the moment when I got very sad but also happy.
Rent- They all had so much energy and Adam and Will were giving it there all and their voices were amazing (Will's at least, adam is okay) It got a standing ovation from some people, I just raised my hands high and clapped.
You Okay Honey- Not much to say, accept that Justin is amazing!
One Song Glory- Will sang his heart out, it was so powerful and it was the lyrics really meant something special this time. When ever he said "Dies" or something I would get very sad.
Light My Candle- The applause was so loud from Glory that you couldn't hear Renee knock on the door so she did it a few times but still wasn't heard and then the applause stopped and it was silent and Will goes "The door" And then it started and Renee is amazing! She is a bit older than other cast members but then way she plays Mimi is young. She kind of moves like a teenager (Mimi is 19) and acts like a rug addict. And her voice is amazing and she was playful and funny! Probably one of my favorite songs of the night.
Today 4 U- Justin went all out, they applause went on for a good minute but no standing. He had so much energy and he was dancing all over the place and jumping and his drumming was amazing.
Tango: Maureen- Tracie is amazing. He voice is great and she was very funny. Before she started dancing she opened up her jacket and show a little "skin"
Life Support- This song was great it got lots of applause during the song like the New Yorker line and other nice lines.
Out Tonight- I have seen people say that Renee can't hold the notes so she does the weird thing. I think she can hold it but she decide to do something different but when she is not doing that she is great and she went upside down!!! Dang, that girl can move and she has a great body. Lots of applause!
Another Day- The lyrics made me very sad. Not much else, Renee has a very good Another Day
Will I?- Wow, beautiful!
Santa Fe- It was so much fun to watch and I loved the dancers, I always liked the dancing but from where I was sitting it was great (Rear Mezz)
I'll Cover You- AHHHHHH, I love Justin. When they kind of spin around Justin said," Ohhh, my wig!" it got applause, he did it in this cool voice.
We're Okay- I felt so bad for Tracie because her voice was not doing well but she handled it well, you could tell she was completely out of breathe and her voice was scratchy. Sad but she is great!
Christmas Bells- It was great, lots of energy and then at the end it got tons of applause and Eden made a great entrance and got tons of applause.
Over The Moon- Well is the best Maureen ever. She is amazing! Her OTM is hilarious but her voice is amazing at the same time. She doesn't over do it and it was very Maureen.
La Vie Boheme- Everyone was having a blast and it was great. It got a standing ovation and it wasn't just for intermission. The dancing was great.
Seasons of Love- People stood up when they walked out and gave them a standing ovation for a while. Then when it time came to clap in the middle everyone stood up and started dancing and it was so much fun! I had a blast and Gwen was on fire! She was incredible and she got so a loud applause you could barley hear her and then it went on for a long time. Probably one of the best parts of the night **Shout out to Gwen and Marcus who were incredible!
Happy New Year- it was pretty normal.
Take Me or Leave me- This as the best version of take me or leave me I have ever heard. from the words of someone I was with "It was like a voice battle!" Two of the best voices on Broadway. **Shout out to Eden and Tracie! BRAVO!
Without You- Renee was so great, beautiful. I started to tear up. This song meant a lot.
Contact- "It's Over" that should explain how I felt after it.
I'll Cover You (reprise)- If Marcus was Collins this would have made me cry so much but he wasn't. But Michael was very good anyway. This was the most emotional song and everyone gave a standing ovation, I just stood up and kind of stood there but then I cheered really load after a minute or two, it made me cry a little.
Halloween and GoodBye Love- Wow, **tear tear**
Finale- All of the understudies came out on stage and got a huge applause and and everyone was there, it was amazing. I didn't want it to end.
Then the applause went on for about 5 minutes and then the OBC walked out and before they could do anything they had to stand through an applause for about 10 minutes. They sang the SOL medley. It was amazing and al the soloists were amazing.
Over all I give it about a 20/10 10 Stars!
It was more amazing then I made it sound. Best night over theater i have been a part of. RIP Rent! Thank You Jonathan Larson!
