Saw this tonight and thought it was really wonderful.  It sometimes feels like a well-worn story of the American idealist who visits another country and realizes their ideals don't necessarily translate, but I really like the way it was brought to life and how the characters interact with each other.  It can feel pretty straightforward but I found a lot of depth and nuance in the characters and the circumstances they deal with.  And I found it particularly special because it seems very similar to Dominique Morisseau's actual experience too (I highly recommend reading the "deeper dive" they have linked on their website before the show).

Pascale Armand as Gigi in particular really blew me away in a very layered performance, but as is usually the case, I didn't think there was a weak link in the cast.

I liked it as well. And I agree about Pascale Armand. I thought Jude Tibeau was also excellent.
