I don't like "Agony" number one or "Agony" number two. I could do without them. Neither prince is really admirable or likable so why we have to watch them sing for a full six minutes (combined) is beyond me.

Because it's funny.
Or at least supposed to be.

CATSNYRevival- I agree with you. I could do without "Agony." Particularly in the most recent revival with the insufferable Greg Edelman...then again I could have done without that entire production.
As for 11 O'clock number...I'm not sure that my definition is correct but I think that "Last Midnight" is tor de force for anyone playing that role. Has anyone heard Billy Porter sing this?

The princes are supposed to be insufferable. It's a complete sendup of the whole "Prince Charming" thing. That's why it's funny, if it's done right.

Cinderella Darling from H2$- After hearing this on the OBCR I realized why it was cut from the revival.
Ribbons Down My Back from Hello Dolly!- I understand the need for a number at that point in the the show, but this just never worked for me.

Hmmm...these are the tracks I usually skip when listening to the CD.
Dancing Thru Life - Wicked
Only in New York - TMM
Sorry-Grateful - Company(love Sondheim though)
Little Lamb - Gypsy
Very Soft Shoe - Mattress
It's A Scandal - Oklahoma
Optimistic Ending - Spider Woman(LOVE the show)
That's all I can think of for now :)

"An Ordinary Couple" (were the Captain and Maria ever ordinary?)- "The Sound of Music"
"Hand For The Hog" - "Big River"
"Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life" seems like the worst song in the show based on the CD alone, but when you see it onstage, you grow to love it; the staging is wonderful, and it provides a lot of amazingly comedic moments.
Otherwise:
"New Music"- Ragtime
"Those Canaan Days" Joseph
"Talk to Me"- Bye Bye Birdie

"Sorry-Grateful" is a truly great portrait of the confusion of the woes and joys of marraige. It is by no means a bad song in my opinion.
"Ah! Sweet Mystery of Life" is interpolated into THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE. It was NOT written for that show, but rather is a popular song written for the 1910 operetta NAUGHTY MARIETTA with music by Victor Herbert and lyrics by Rida Johnson Young. I understand why you might think it doesn't fit THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, but personally I would object to judging it based on its presentation in MILLIE because that is not how the original authors intended it and it is among songs specifically written for audiences of today. I think "Ah! Sweet Mystery of Life" is a great song and is the very least of the show's problems.
