With all the excitement of Color Purple and Sweeney coming on CD, let us not forget that Baker Street gets its first cd issue on the 31st. I cannot freaking wait! What a great month for cast recordings!

i have yet to hear it. i was lucky enough to get the lp. the hardcover copy of the script and the playbill in color.

I love that show and would love to see it revived, but I'm not holding my breath.

I actually saw it when it played

I remember they had one of the famed buckingham palace guards with a guardhouse outside the theater. It was a lot of fun

It should be revived but will not. Another show that inexplicably did not make it

Any thoughts on this recording? I can't really get into it, but Inga Swenson is superb. I adore her, and it is great to have another recording with her.

i LOVE the recording...my mom was listening to it and remembering how good the show was.

just got it yesterday. although uneven in places in terms of recording. it is great fun. and swenson is beautifully elegant. i love fritz weaver. but this recording...and i dont mean this mean just a coincidence...reminds me of cyrano with c. plummmer

When I was a student at Juilliard, I spent almost every Sat at the NYLPA. That's where I discovered Baker Street. In a leadsheet book. I held on to the music for "What A Night This Is Going To Be" for years. Since then, I became acquainted with Ray Jessell, the composer of Baker Street & WANTIGTB". It is the opening number for my show "So Many Nights, So Many Men." Ray came to see it & I was thrilled with his reaction.
