I was a tenor for a while but my singing voice has lowered, and I have to audition for Urinetown (yes it’s legal) in a couple of weeks. I’m not that familiar with the lower range Broadway songs (There is no way in hell that I’m going to sing “Old Man River”). Please help!!!
didn;t you post a few weeks ago under another thread...?

yea and it turned into a little discussion about if my production eas legal or not. So i'm trying it again, and i'm desperate.
I highly recommend getting all three volumes of The Singer's Musical Theatre Anthology--Baritone/Bass (or in the very least, volume one). They are by far the best anthologies out there.
As far as your audition goes, there are of course a million songs you could do, but for Urinetown take a look at more traditional musical theater stuff--Rodgers and Hammerstein, etc. "Lonely Room" is a great baritone song--I use that one a lot for auditions.

There's actually a 4th Volume out. It's sitting right next to me on my shelf. Love it.
