Clarifying a couple things:

Jim Steinman is set to write both music and lyrics for 'Batman: The Musical.' David Ives is set to write the book.

Tim Burton is set to direct which I would imagine answers the question about whether or not the tone will be 'Burtonesque' or not.

I've just gotta ask... if Tim is directing then why isn't Danny Elfman being asked to write the music as he did in the actual film???? The whole thing puzzles me.

the director doesn't choose the writer. tim isn't the producer. the producer and writers usually decide the director.
