This sounds like a horrible idea but I read something on Yahoo about it the other day. Does anyone know what the deal is?

Posted: 6/14/03 at 1:27pmHoly Horse**** Batman. Burt Wards weight has ballooned so much he could play the Batmobile . No worse than years back a website for "Ben Hur" the musical (with dancing charioteers I guess) Why not just revive Superman ? I figured out how to change the close of the first act which would not play today with terrorism. Mine in a simple solution. Instead of city hall blowing up, have Dr Sedgwick turn a ray on it & make it vanish ( only to reappear at the end of the show). In addition, if oriental acrobats are no good have a 5 person troup of acrobats of 5 different nationalities so no one gets their knickers in a twist. We must be PC

It should be coming up the same season as Catch Me If You Can. I think there's a running contest to see who can pull off the most inappropriate subject for musicalization nowadays...

Urgh, Shrek on stage. Why bother?
8 Mile, I like that idea.
Catch Me If You Can, difficult.
Batman, yes, I think it will be OK.
Little Mermaid, erm, yes, of course.. it's Disney don't forget.

I most interested in Little Mermaid ( must I explain why??), Catch Me If You Can ( Marc and Scott) and Tarzan ( IF they keep Matt Morrison).
Batman -- only if it is like the touring Spiderman stage show. If they try to do a 'Broadway' musical, it'll flop like Superman I think.
8 Mile -- I HATE Eminem.
SAchrek -- I think it'll be hard to do right. Especially for the person who has to follow Mike Meyers. Feel sorry for him.
I want Disney to bring over Hunchback. I also want Aladdin.

Posted: 6/15/03 at 9:54pmI heard that Mark Kudisch wanted to play Batman. I think he would be great. As far as the musical, I think it would be good. I am most interested in the Little Mermaid. I hope they don't try to put 8 Mile on stage. In the season of 2005, I would like to see The Little Mermaid, Catch Me If You Can, and Batman, I guess.

Posted: 6/15/03 at 9:57pmHow about Bob Cuccioli as the man behind the cowl ?
#11re: re: re: re: re: Batman the Musical?
Posted: 6/15/03 at 10:05pmRobert Cuccioli would be amazing as well. I love his voice. I think that Gavin Creel or Matt Cavenagh would both make good Robins.

Posted: 6/15/03 at 10:10pmI would really love to see Cuccioli in a revival of Superman. Even though it flopped the first time,it was not due to the reviews. It came right before the Superman craze with Christopher Reeve . Had it opened than, I think it would have done much better. With the state the world is in, Broadway needs the man of steel more than ever. Just think of Cuccioli in his superman outfit flying in & singing "Doing Good" . 2 1/2 hours of pure unadulterated clean fun with no pretense other than to make you forget your cares & woes

I believe that Steinman is supposed to do the lyrics and the music. That however is only if he has any songs left that he didn't already recycle in DOTV.

I don't like steinman. seriously, I bet that wittman and shaiman could do a good job with the score. steinman -- no.

Aopparently, Disney isn't sure if they want to do Hunchbach eher because of the darker tone and the ending is the one from the novel, not the movie.
I love the score and the physical production form the show.
