Wow, it all sounds great. I'm so happy they didn't overproduce it. Jessie and the rest of the cast sound incredible, really really nice orchestrations too. Curious: Jake Epstein isn't listed on "Up on the Roof", did they not record his intro to the song? I mean, Jarrod Spector is listed on "Lost that Lovin' Feeling" so I'm assuming the Barry/Cyn intro to that song is on there. Just seems odd not to record Jake's first bit of "Up on the Roof".

I can't wait until this comes out, it sounds so so good.

Thanks :) Glad to hear it. Do you/does anyone know how One Fine Day was recorded? I was expecting two tracks, one for Janelle's version and then the Carole reprise, as it is in the show. I can't hear how they would combine them in my head since there's a bit of overlap in what part of the song is in each.

I was only interested in this recording because of Jake Epstein, but the music is actually a lot of fun. Jake sounds great and I like the recording more than I thought I would. Sort of makes me want to see the show now.

I have been listening to this nonstop the past week. This is honestly one of the *best * cast recordings that has been released in a long time. Jessie sounds incredible, the orchestra is killer, and the overall quality is just great.

Totally agree. I own all of Carole's albums and all the Goffin/King recordings so didn't see why I'd like the cast album, but, it's incredible.

I haven't pre-ordered a physical CD in so long -- is it normal to have this much of a gap between the digital and physical releases? I might just buy it on iTunes now and save the CD for whatever (or gifting).

It is a pretty big gap. I haven't been this enamored with a cast recording since Bonnie & Clyde and Rogers & Hammerstein's Cinderella. It's just such a treat to hear Jessie and the cast hit these songs out of the park.

The album will be available for purchase sometime this week or next at the theater according to the merch girl.

I love the cast album and cannot stop listening to it - everything about it is really well done.
