Hey everyone..OK..So i recently have been cast as the Beast in a production of Beauty and the Beast. YAY ! Now even though the show is not until mid august..theres a lot that im thinking about. One big thing is the fact of how i will design the stage make up for the beast. Yes i have taken my stage make-up 101 course @ school..but i need some help.! ANYONE who has played the beast.. know someone who has..or just so happens to have a book of stage make-up stuff with the character in it..If you could soo soo very kindly help me out by emailing me back or somehow contacting me so that i can make myself look really good !! Thank you soo so very much ! It means alot !
I think it would be more beneficial to take a Stage Masks 101 class, unless you want to be scrubbing off all that makeup with Kleenex during your quick change into the prince.
I saw a very effective version that was kinda similar to the Lion in "Wizard of Oz." They just had the nose and jowls done, and there was a wig for the main with ears. He easily rubbed off the nose and jowls and dropped back the wig.
I just recently played Belle and my beast had 2 different sets of makeup styles. One for act one and most of act two, but different makeup was put on him before the transformation (which I believe is crucial). As well as looking in to how to make yourself look beastly with makeup, don't overlook that you will need to quickly remove it and put on new makeup for when you become the prince. I wasn't involved in the designing of the makeup for my beast, so I don't really have any pointers (besides what he looked like) but I just figured I'd leave you with that little reminder. Best of Luck and Congratulations! I assure you, you'll knock 'em dead with If I Can't Love Her.
