I’m going late June. The cast videos that have been popping up look great so I’m excited.

Tally Sessions sounds so incredible singing "If I Can't Love Her".  WOW. And the Gaston casting is perfection.

Just back from BATB at Papermill. An excellent production, marred only by the usual issue at PMP....the single worst theater audiences anywhere in the world, at any level of theater.

But, more about the good stuff (and there's a lot of it). They spared no expense on the production. Sets, costumes, lighting were top notch. And that cast. Holy crap. One person better than the next.

Belinda Allyn is a perfect Belle. Tally Sessions is insanely good as the Beast. I said to my companion that I want to see a concert by him. What a voice.

Gavin Lee is great fun as Lumiere as are Kevin Ligon as Cogsworth and Donna English as Madame de la Grande Bouche.

Stephen Mark Lukas was a strong Gaston until he was on stage with the Beast. Then, he seemed weaker and not holding his own. Small quibble. He was still very good.

It's BATB, so there's not much to say about the show itself that everyone doesn't already know.

I did think the orchestra seemed small and when I checked at intermission, it seems there are only 12 in the orchestra. If I had a beef with the show, this would be it. It was noticeable, especially in a theater that size.

If you're going, just be aware that nothing about the audience misbehavior at PMP has changed. Almost $150 a ticket and they crinkle pretzel bags, talk and come and go as they please.

If you combined Gymboree with Yankee Stadium and performed a show there, that's what the audience is like. My companion, who hadn't been to PMP in many years commented at intermission that people seem to forget they're in a theater. I had forgotten to warn him. It can be infuriating enough to ruin a great show.

I hope the Bway revivial, if it happens, is as good as what's at PMP right now.
