I saw this show for the first time tonight starring none other that Christy Can't Sing Romano and boy was she terrible. She is not attractive at all and pretty damn ugly if I might add. She sounds horrible. She makes strange unattractive faces when she sings including moving her lower lip to the side(I can't stand it when singers do that. why do they do that?) He acting was unbelieveably cheesy even for Disney. What was that little choreographed body gesture dance thing she did on the "Belle Reprise" when she runs out into the field or whatever? It looked so stupid and did not fit at all. Anyone see that. All her dialogue was weak, quite and hard to understand. The beast wasn't too great either. He spoke most of the music and always disturbed the rythm in the song for an "effect" that got old. Is it just because it's a Wednesday night or is that show always so empty. There could not have been more than 400 people there. The mezz and balcony was empty. hmm. Show overall was nice to see but seemed weak and I think it's cause there was no audience to applaud after every dance break. Anyone else have thoughts on this show righ now?

Christy Romano isn't ugly, but she wasn't that great when I saw her *only* in Bryant Park. It was funny, because the guy who played the beast/Gaston came onstage after she performed to sing his song, and he said, "Wasn't that beautiful?" I wonder what went on through people's minds after he said that.

Here we go again....okay...so I didn't like Christy in the show...but she is not ugly. Where in the world did that come from. She is a beautiful girl! Please, let us not start this bashing again. Give the girl a break!

THe theatre is never that empty, BatB still pulls in pretty good numbers. Christy is not the worst person on Broadway I've seen (that goes to MJW), and she is a pretty good singer. Just not Broadwaycaliber. Now to think of it, a lot of things on Broadway right now arn't Broadway caliber. I was able to sit down with her after a show in April, and she is the nicest person I've met!

Soothsayer.... yes, CCR is awful and a disgrace to Broadway, worse than Drew Lachey and Scary Spice and Joey Fatone put together, but i would NEVER ever put her in the steriotypical Disney produciton category. What about Lion King, that show was and still is amazing! And what about Aida. That is like one of the best Bway shows ever, and now just for Disney, but for theatre in general.
I would seriously rather see Hillary Duff, and her whole popstar clan in the show rather than see CCR one more time!!!

Beauty will not be closing anytime soon. These September weeks are always tough on the long-running shows like Beauty and the Beast or Phantom of the Opera, when tourists depart the city, but those shows spring back to life in late September-early October when tourists and group business starts to rally again. And for those not wanting to see Christy Carlson Romano as Belle, Brooke Tansley begins as Belle on Tuesday, so the wait is not long...

On Tuesday night (at 7:00) Brooke Tansley will take over the role of Belle in Beauty and the Beast. Time to see the show again.

She's so beautiful. She didn't do that well, but...you know. Some people aren't meant for Broadway.

I'm just wondering, why is CCR blonde as Belle?? On all the ads, she's blonde!! And considering CCR is a brunette, what's up with that??

I really don't like her voice. When I used to watch Disney channel, she always annoyed me. But she's very pretty.

UGH! I hate watching Even Stevens with all the tiny kids I babysat, and when I watched the "musical" episode I wanted to hurl. She can't act OR sing. That leaves her no room to be in a broadway show. She's not ugly, just terribly unsuited to be in this role, or any other.

i saw beauty and the beast about a year or so ago ( i think it might actully have been a little more) and im glad, it was amazing when i saw it and really enjoyed it. Christy wasen't in it, and reading the reviews, im glad she wasen't. I never like people who act on tv to go and sing... like they don't have enough money from acting in the first place. And Hillary Duff's voice is awful, but her sister can sing. I think some ppl are better at acting than singing. Shes just better at acting.
