Bebe in Sweet Charity?

Bebe won a tony for her role in Sweet Chariry. She played Nicky. I just saw Sweet Cherity yesterday and that role was pretty small. I can't believe someone would win an award for that small a part. Does anyone know if they cut Nicky's role in the new revival?

Saw Bebe as Nicky. She was great and did not copy Chita.
I think that role is larger in the stage musical but as we all know I left at intermission in Chicago, so I can't say for sure with this revival.

Bebe was terriffic as Nicky. I didn't see this recently aborted production, but maybe cuts were made, because Nicky is a fairly decent-sized featured role (Helen Gallagher was also Tony nominated for creating the role of Nicky in the OBC).

I don't know if it was cut down at all, but it wasnt the biggest role. Definately large enough to be Tony nominated, though. Smaller roles than that have been nominated (Maureen in Rent comes to mind)

I dunno how much they cut of it, but I agree that (I just saw it last Tuesday) it is large enough to be nominated for supporting.

Bebe was great. The Tony was deserved.

i loved the character of nicky, and it was a decent sized role- big enough for a tony i think. i saw sweet charity last night in boston and i thought janine lamanna was great in the role.
