How do you make a musical out of this? Isn't the movie like 4 hours??

10.5 hours, actually.

I think THAT will be the most intriguing part of this show -- how they will condense that much complex narrative into a 3.5 hour musical.

Yes indeed, I'm very interested to see how they edit this into the time limits.

They have condensed each book into a one hour act. The musical will be three hours long with two fifteen minute intermissions.

It's a $35 million production. And it's risky beacuse they're only selling balcony seats at the PoW, they're turning the orchestra seating into the shire!

The effects look incredible. I'm just confused as to how they're going to cram the whole story into a three hours running time. It took Peter Jackson three films to get it all, and even those had many things cut out.
